Who are We?

Who are We?

We are a group of like minded people who share a lack of belief in anything that lacks substantial, empirical or logical evidence.

What do we Do?

What do we Do?

We provide opportunities for members to socialise, learn and come to an understanding regarding their personal belief systems.

Why do we do this?

Why do we do this?

Too long has organised religion, superstition and pure fantasy held the monopoly on what is the best way for human kind to exist as a society. It is time for people with a rational mindset to stand up and be counted.

Over the last year, we've had some requests for Meetups that don't revolve around pubs & alcohol and also for Meetups on alternate days for those who can't make it into the city on a weeknight.

We've listened!

On Sunday, April 11th, we'll be holding a casual afternoon meetup at Cafe Brunelli's on Rundle St.

If we can get enough members to attend, then we'll begin regularly scheduling more alternate meetups on the weekend, so please come along, have some coffee/tea, and engage in some lively discussion with fellow atheists and freethinkers.

The Global Atheist Convention went down as a resounding success,
inspiring and motivating many atheists from Australia and around the
world.

A number of Adelaide Atheists were fortunate enough to go
and witness the event, and now we're back with knowledge, amusing
anecdotes, and photos to share.

If you attended, come along and
share your experiences. If you missed it, come along and find out what's
happening in the wide world of atheism.

GAC Review

It has been about a week since the 2010 Global Atheist Convention in Melbourne ended, and I don't think that I have fully recovered yet!

Before the Last Day

Well, it's currently 8:25am on Sunday morning. There's an air of excitement in the air where i'm staying. Discovered 3 other people that are staying here are also attendees of the convention!

There's a great line up of speakers today, starting off with Peter Singer and ending with Richard Dawkins.

The convention has been a great networking tool for everyone. Meeting new people and meeting people we only knew from their online personas.

A Fabulous Time

Well, i've been a bit remiss in my postings so far... sorry

I attended and participated in the launch of the AUFA, Australian Universtiy Freethought Alliance. It's a new organisation set up to provide support to university clubs both existing and just starting up by providing a network for students to get in contact with each other and share their experience and wisdom.

In the evening we had the launch of the Convention.

Sue-Ann Post is hilarious. For those who don't know of her, she is a Lesbian Ex-Morman comedian. youtube her if you can!

Arrival in Melbourne

Well, I arrived in Melbourne at around 8pm local time, checked in to where I'm staying and then headed on down to Federation Square where I met... some Atheists!

A great time was had by those imbibbing alcohol, myself; I was too tired after a long day at uni back in Adelaide so I returned to my room at about 12:30.

A bit about what is happening today!
