Just looking at different religions and found some that an atheist could believe in.

So far i found Taoism and Confucianism.

Damian, Could you expand

Damian,

Could you expand upon that? Explain why you have reached that conclusion. What is it about those two that makes them believable for an atheist? Why would you class them as religions? etc

I define a religion as a set

I define a religion as a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe and also containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

I think both Taoism and Confucianism fit in that definition.

They are believable for an atheist because they don't require a belief in a supernatural creator.

Non-theistic religions:

Don't forget

  1. Solar Worship
  2. The cult of Prince Phillip (as practiced in certain Polynesian islands)
  3. The religion based on worship of the Emperor of Japan as a living deity, and last but not least in this whirlwind of religions that do nor rely upon supernatural dieties:
  4. Scientology!

They all fit your definition.

Oh, and the Raelians, too.

Would you care to modify your definition slightly? ;)
